Stained Glass

St Mark's has a mixture of stained glass. The oldest is in the baptistery and consists of three quatrefoils of infants by Blomfield which date from c1890 (see Baptistery Glass) . The lancet west window is by Goddard and Gibbs and dates from 1956 (see detail below). Two fine lancets in the north aisle are by John Hayward. They depict the life of St Mark and date from 1966 (see John Hayward Windows). The east window in the north aisle is by Brian Thomas 1957, and depicts the vicar's cat among other animals (see below). Other windows are by Ninian Comper, the celebrated church decorator who was also responsible for the magnificent reredos on the high altar. (see Ninian Comper Windows).
