The background appears to be foil (metallic gold) and set atop this is the most wonderful enamel scene showing this magnificent ship at sea. There is great attention to detail. All clasps & hinges work perfectly. The whole compact is in super condition. The original mirror sticker & sifter are in place. The mirror gives a good and
